The Maoists shot dead police constable Bal Krishna Harijan, who was looking after the security of the Bindhyabasini temple in Pokhara Friday afternoon.
Harijan who hails from Nawalparasi died while undergoing treatment at the Manipal Teaching Hospital.
The Maoists who had come in a taxi with plate number Ga 1 Ja 162 fled the scene towards Sarangkot after opening fire on Harijan who was inside the small police post at the temple.
A cloud of terror is said to have spread across the tourist town after the murder incident, probably first of its kind in the town’s history. nepalnews.com am Sept 7
