King Gyanendra extended the term of the Judicial Inquiry Commission on Property (JICP) by six months upon the recommendation of the council of ministers Thursday.

The Commission asked for some more time in order to complete the investigation of the property details submitted by civil servants, politicians and other individuals holding public posts after 1990.

The Commission distributed a total of 36,000 forms and has so far received 24,000 of them. It has warned that the names of those not submitting the forms would be made public.

Justice Bhairab Prasad Lamsal heads the Commission.
