A Karnali Air helicopter has gone missing while going from Kathmandu to Jubu in Okhaldhunga this morning, TIA and Karnali Air officials have said.
The helicopter with the serial number 9AED AS340 took off at 9:45 AM Thursday morning with 4 passengers and under the command of Captain Arun Malla, reports said. All four passengers were Nepali with Gurung surnames. The last contact was with Rumja tower at 10:28 AM with the helicopter scheduled to land at Jubu 2 minutes later.
A search and rescue helicopter of Karnali Air sited the charred remains of the tail end of the missing helicopter at 5:15 PM at a helipad near Jubu, 180 kms south east of the capital, a TIA official said over telephone.
