Communications Minister Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta Friday affixed the first cancellation marks on four stamps issued the Postal Services Department depicting insects and highlighting social issues of Nepali concern.

A Rs.3 denomination stamp depicts a leaf beetle while a Rs.5 stamp depicts a locust. The beetle was first found in Nepal in 1831 while the locust in a pest.

Two other stamps issued Friday discourages discrimination between boys and girls and untouchability.
