13 more peaks opened for climbing

Government has opened 13 more peaks to foreign climbers to mark Destination Nepal Year 2002/4 and the golden jubilee of the conquest of Mount Everest in May 1953, an announcement said.

The new peaks opened are: Tashi Kang, Tsartse, Khuatung Kang, Norbu Kang, Kanta Gaton, Danfe Sail, Nemjung, Ghenye Liru, Mera South, Naulekh, Kangri Shar, Kanghri West and Lung Sampa.

Altogether 276 peaks are now open to climbers in the Nepal Himalaya.
