Qatar Foreign Secretary Abdul Rahman Hamad Al-Attiyah arrived in Nepal Monday to discuss employment opportunities for Nepalis in the Gulf state.

Foreign Secretary Narayan Shumshere Thapa will discuss the issue with Qatar’s top diplomat in the next two days, officials said. He will also meet officials of the FNCCI and the Employment Commission. A protocol on consultation will be signed during the visit, an announcement said.

Nepal for the first time opened an embassy headed by an ambassador in the Gulf state last year to up employment opportunities for Nepalis and protect their interests.
