Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba Thursday briefly met the diplomatic community for the first time Thursday and informed them of his earlier historic address to parliament abolishing untouchability and lowering the land ceiling.
“The address was for about two minutes followed by a reception that lasted one hour. It was a very good move that was well appreciated. I got the impression that he wanted to inform us of his policy initiatives after assuming office last month,” said an ambassador of a neighbouring country present at the meet.
