Human error was the cause of two crashes last year that claimed the lives of 25 persons, including three crew members, probe reports released Wednesday said.
RNAC pilots of a Twin Otter tried to land at Dhangadhi on a flight from Bhajang on July 27 in poor visibility conditions without adequate knowledge of the conditions around the airport, a report said. Twenty-five persons, including three crew members, died in the crash. Justice Ram Krishna Shrestha headed the seven member probe.
The crash of a Dronier of Gorkha Airlines at Lukla on a flight from Kathmandu on November 2 was also the result of pilot error, a report said. Nobody died in the crash. The six member probe was headed by Joint Secretary Yagya Prasad Gautam.
