Security forces shot dead three Maoists, including  district commander Tika Sedai, at Jajjale in Terathum Sunday, local security sources said. Sanu Rai and Dil Kumari Limbu were also killed in the encounter.

Three persons were seriously injured in a khukri attack by rebels in Thangpaldhap in Sindhupalchok district Saturday, local officials said.

Insurgents Sunday released four among 11 persons abducted two days earlier at Deukhari in Dang.
