KATHMANDU: Nepal Bank Ltd. resumed business at its Putalibazzar branch in Syangjha district from Sunday, bank officials said.
Nepal’s oldest bank is also starting banking operations at Ghorai in Dang from Monday, the bank said. Rebels had robbed nearly Rs.21 million from the two banks after resuming nation-wide hostilities after failed peace talks to end a six year bloody communist insurgency on November 23.
Security forces have recovered at least Rs.5 million from the rebels in search operations, officials said. The bank closures had inconvenienced the people.
