KATHMANDU: King Gyanendra and Crown Prince Paras Sunday paid inspection visits of the Birendra International Conference Centre which is the venue of the 11th SAARC summit in the capital from Janauary 4 to 6.
They also inspected facilities at Tribhuvan International Airport and Nagarkot where leaders of the seven South Asian nations will meet in retreat. The King and Crown Prince also visited Soaltee Hotel where the summit leaders will stay.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba briefed the King and Crown Prince on the summit preparations.
Nepal is hosting the summit for the second time. The first summit was hosted at the Royal Nepal Acadamy hall.
