China reiterates its support for Nepal

Kathmandu: In a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba Saturday, Chinese Foreign Minister Tang said that the government of China, the Chinese Communist Party and the people of China support the decision of the Nepalese government to declare a state of emergency for the stability, security and peace of the country, a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The Chinese government and Chinese Communist Party have no contact and relations with the terrorist Nepal Communist Party (Maoist), the Chinese Foreign Minister told Prime Minister Deuba.
He said that Nepal and China have friendly relations based on the five principles of peaceful coexistence, the Foreign Ministry said. In reply, Prime Minister Deuba expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for supporting Nepal’s efforts for containing terrorism and maintaining security in the country.

Prime Minister Deuba informed the Chinese Minister that His Majesty’s Government was forced to declare a state of emergency, Foreign Ministry said. China had already supported Nepal’s decision to declare a state of emergency.
