Hindi meet begins in Siddharthanagar

Butwal, Mar. 24 :The third Nepal National Hindi Conference began in Siddharthanagar today.

The two-day conference basically aims at knowing the present state of Hindi language and identifying the possibility of its development.

The first and second conferences were held in Janakpur and Birgunj in 2052 B.S. and 2054 B.S. Respectively.

Some 100 litterateurs and scholars are taking part in the conference organised by the Janakpur Intellectuals society.

Litterateur and Rajparishad Standing Committee member Miss Bhadra Kumari Ghale, inaugurating the conference, spoke of the need of joint efforts to develop Hindi language.

On the occasion, Miss Ghale also honoured Dr. Ram Dayal Rakesh, Prof. Upendra Prasad Kamal, Sarju Chaudhary, Bhagyanath Gupta, Hridayanarayan Chaudhary, Panna Lal Gupta, Dayananda Yadav, Sitaram Agrahari Prakash, Ram Dular Azad, K. B. Shahi, Kaushal Chandra Srivastav, Ramgulam Das Madhukar, Rupnarayan Jha, Ganga Prasad Akela and Prof. Hare Krishna Saha by wrapping shawls around them.

On the occasion, the society presented the Rajarshi Talent Award to late Kashi Prasad Srivastav posthumously. The award carries a purse of Rs 25,000.

A host of speakers including Dr. Rakesh also expressed their views on the occasion.
