Kathmandu, Mar. 24: The meeting of the bilateral technical committee of Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (ronast) and Italian Research Council (cnr) concluded here today.
The committee was formed under an agreement between the two institutions to jointly carry out research in high altitude.
The meeting identified research programme to be carried out from 2000 to 2001 and worked out necessary policy and programme for the research work.
The meeting agreed to conduct two additional training programmes on Himalayan Rescue Project and Pyramid Technical Management which directly benefit the local people, according to ronast.
The Nepalese side was led by ronast Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Dayananda Bajracharya while the Italian delegation was headed by Prof. Paolo Cerretelli of cnr.
The meeting was attended by academician Prof. (Dr) Devi Datta Poudel, Krishna Gopal Rajbanshi, Dr. Shashank Koirala, Dr. Krishna Prasad Sharma, Dr. Bishwonath Agrawal, secretary Bishwonath Aryal, Dr. Leonardo Gastaldi of the Italian Embassy in New Delhi.
