Two robbed men found unconscious

Kathmandu: Two Nepalese workers returning home from India were robbed of Rs 56,000 and other goods by unidentified persons by drugging them with biscuits.

Bir Bahadur Oli, 25, a resident of Jhyalsikhola-2 of Surkhet district and Sher Bahadur Karki, 59, a resident of Mahakal-4 of Sindhupalchowk district, were being drugged by unidentified persons while drinking tea on their way home on a bus via Gorakhpur, India, according to a statement given by Oli to the police.

They were found lying in an unconscious state near the eye hospital located at Ward No. 3 of Siddharthanagar Municipality on Tuesday.

One of the victims, Oli said that he was returning home after working at a hotel in Kashmir for nine years because of the possibility of an outbreak of war.

He said that he was carrying Rs 35,000 (Indian currency) and other goods when the tragic incident took place.

The other victim Sher Bahadur Karki had not recovered from the unconscious state till yesterday.

It is still not known how much money Karki was carrying with him.

According to superintendent of Bhim Hospital Dr. Purusottam Niraula, the two Nepalese workers had been fed biscuits mixed with a very strong poisonous medicine.
