At least two persons were killed and 53 injured in separate road accidents on Friday, reports Saturday said.
Two passengers died and 30 hurt when two buses coming from opposite directions collided near Manahari along the Chitwan-Makwanpur section of Mahendra highway on Friday. Achyut Bhandari, a driver, was one of the dead while five passengers were severely injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, at least 19 passengers were injured when a bus they were traveling in met with an accident along the Biratnagar-Sirah section of Mahendra highway on Friday. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
In Kathmandu, one Tej Kumar Rai of Sindhuli died and four persons were severely injured when a taxi collided with a parked truck in Balkhu on Friday. The injured are undergoing treatment at the local Bir Hospital.
