Six Maoists killed

Security forces killed six Maoists during operations in Jhapa and Siraha Tuesday and Wednesday, the Defence Ministry and local security sources said.

Security forces shot dead three rebels during a patrol at Dhangadi village in Siraha Wednesday; a security personnel was slightly injured in the clash.

Three senior rebels were killed at Khadunabari in Jhapa Tuesday, the Ministry said. Shanker Ghimere alias Nanda, Debiraj Acharya alias Pranta and Khagendra Dangol were killed in a shoot-out. Ghimere was district committee area commander of Jhapa and Ilam while Acharya was an area commander.
