Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has issued a show cause notice in the name of defendants in the writ petition filed by 61 outgoing legislators from the Nepali Congress (NC), the Rastriya Janamorcha (RJM) and Samyukta Janamorcha (SJM) and advocate Dhruba Koirala yesterday demanding reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives.
The show cause notice was issued by the single bench of Chief Justice Keshav Prasad Upadhyaya.
The notice calls for written replies through the office of the Attorney General by June l7 if there exists any reason why no order should be issued as per the writ filed.
The hearing will be on June l9 along with a similar case filed earlier.
The writ has named the Prime Minister, the cabinet, the Speaker, the Parliament Secretariat and the Election Commission as defendents.
