Nepal’s economic growth to reach 3.5 percent: ADB

Nepal’s economic growth in 2004 could reach 3.5 percent, the Asian Development Bank said Tuesday.

“Nepal’s economic progress crucially depends on the peace talks as well as developments in relations between the government and parliamentary forces.

“If there is no serious deterioration in the security situation and if the weather conditions are not adverse, the economic growth is projected to accelerate from 2.3 percent to 3.5 percent in 2004,” the Bank forecast released from Manila said.
