Kathmandu, June 9: The high-level probe panel headed by Chief Justice Keshab Prasad Upadhaya continued its inquiry on the second day today investigating the different aspects concerning the June 1st incident in Narayanhity Royal Palace in which nine members of the Royal Family were killed.
The members of the inquiry panel visited spots in the Narayanhity Royal Palace where the incident had taken place and acquired necessary information, sources said. His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev formed the three-member high-level probe panel on June 4 asking it to submit the finding within three days.
Other two members of the panel were Speaker Taranath Ranabhatt and opposition leader Madhav Kumar Nepal. Opposition leader Nepal refused to stay in the panel. As a result, only two members initiated the inquiry in accordance with the terms and condition fixed by His Majesty the King.
According to sources, the panel may request His Majesty the King to extend the time for the investigation and submission of the report. nepalnews.com yl
