The first contingent of 185 Nepali army peace keepers with the United Nations left for Sierre Leone Monday to keep civil peace in the west African state.
The contigent was led by Lt. Col.Victor Rana. Nepal has committed 800 plus troops to the UN in Sierra Leone after completely withdrawing from Lebanon this year after more than two decades in the middle east.
A smaller Nepali army contingent is also posted in East Timor.
