Technicians Wednesday are planning a strategy at the Royal National Chitwan Park on how to dart or kill a man-eater tiger after sighting it Tuesday at an inaccessible spot at the foot of Daune forest in Nawalparasi district 120kms southwest of the capital, wildlife officials said.

The tiger has already killed six persons after straying out of the protected national park. “It is too dangerous to approach the area on foot. Elephants cannot reach the spot nor can vehicles reach the steep forest area. The only solution seems to lure the animal to a lower area by placing a bait,” the official said.

Two man-eaters have killed 11 persons and mauled four others in Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts in seven days. The cat in Chitwan has been killed.
