Nepal Monday morning supported the U.S. led attacks at targets in Afghanistan to flush out Osama bin Laden and destroy terrorist bases.
“His Majesty’s Government expresses its support for the United States and the international coalition in their initiatives and action against terrorism as it is a threat to international peace and security. There is a need for international cooperation to root out terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the two-sentence statement of the Foreign Ministry said.
The swift Nepali reaction came within 12 hours of the retaliatory strikes for the September 11 terror attacks at targets in New York and Washington killing nearly 6000 persons.
Washington says bin Laden is the prime suspect in the bombings.
