Kathmandu, June 28: The parliamentary party of the ruling Nepali Congress met in Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s official residence Thursday. Prime Minister Koirala, who is the leader of NC parliamentary party, called upon all lawmakers of his party to collectively counter the opposition move in parliament and work for translating his 14-point political proposal for national consensus into practice, according to party spokesman Narhari Acharya.
Prime Minister Koirala recently put forward a 14-points political proposal of national consensus in parliament. NC lawmakers asked the Prime Minister Koirala to further clarify and explain in detail the justification of his 14-points proposal. In an answer to the queries of the lawmakers, the Prime Minister said that he did not put forth these points just to divert the issue but to create a basis for a national consensus at the interest of democracy and the country, the party spokesman said.
Senior leaders and lawmakers, who spoke today asked fellow lawmakers to move ahead unitedly in the 20th session of parliament burying personal differences. Party spokesman Acharya said that the meeting also agreed to form committees to initiate dialogue with different political parties for forging national consensus and mustering support for the resolution of the country’s burning problems.
