Kathmandu, June 23: The underground Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has announced fresh protest programmes against the Public Security Regulation recently announced by the government.

Chief of the Maoist party Comrade Prachanda issued a statement Saturday describing the Public Security Regulation as an act of snatching away the rights of the people granted by the mass movement in 1990.

The series of programmes include burning the copies of the Regulation, burning effigies of the prime minister and ministers, corner meetings, torch rallies, “people’s action” and nationwide strikes.
