Strong retaliation and quick reinforcements by the security forces repulsed a Maoist attack Friday night at Sandhikharka, headquarters of Arghakhanchi district in western Nepal, security sources said.
Though the Maoist attack was effectively repulsed, the rebels torched and partially damaged over half-a-dozen government offices in the town and fled, the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), RNA headquarters told Nepalnews. “Details of the incident are still being awaited,” the DPR added.
A few Maoists are suspected killed in the retaliatory action. There were no casualties on the security side, the DPR said.
