The mainstream Nepali Congress led by Girija Prasad Koirala notified the Election Commission Friday that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was no longer a member of the Nepali Congress party.
In its written response to the Election Commission, the party said Deuba was removed from the party after he recommended for House dissolution without seeking the consent of the party’s parliamentary committee or the central working committee.
The explanation furnished by the Prime Minister also failed to impress the Disciplinary Committee of the party, the statement forwarded to EC said.
In the explanation the party has said that the so-called General Convention called by Deuba was not in tune with the governing clauses of the party’s statute. nepalnews.com am July 27
