Kathmandu, June 25: His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev is to address the joint
sitting of both the Houses of Parliament on June 29. Speaker Taranath Rananabhat announced it in Monday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, the Lower House of Parliament.

This is the first time His Majesty King Gyanendra is going to address the parliament after he became King of Nepal.
His Majesty the King presents the annual policies and programmes of the government.

Based on the annual policies and programmes, the government presents the annual budget for the fiscal year 2000/01. The 20th session of Parliament convened today.
