Japanese and Indian envoys to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka and Shiv Shankar Mukharjee respectively have said that their countries would continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Nepal.
Speaking at a program in the eastern town of Biratnagar Friday, envoy Hiraoka said, “Japan will not suspend its humanitarian support to Nepal under any circumstances.”
Envoy Hiraoka inspected the storage facility of the Salt Trading Corporation in Biratnagar. The facility was constructed with the Japanese assistance in order to store iodized salt for eastern hilly districts.
At a separate programme at Rangeli, Biratnagar on Friday, Indian envoy to Nepal, Shiva Shankar Mukharjee, said India would continue its assistance that directly benefit the Nepalese people. Envoy Mukharjee also laid foundation stone of the 9 km long Gandhi-Manmohan Marg at Rangeli.
