Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (HURON) has urged the government to provide health check-up facility to all the detainees by expert medical doctors.
In a memorandum submitted to Home Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi Monday, the organisation also demanded that visitors other than family members should also be allowed to see the detainees.
Talking to Nepalnews, President of HURON, Sudip Pathak, said the organisation had met some 60 activists detained at various places within Kathmandu over the last two days.
He said Minister Shahi has assured him that he will look into HURON’s demands with utmost urgency.
All the detainees that HURON visited had been taken into custody after the Feb. 1 developments, according to Pathak.
