The House of Representatives, Lower House of Parliament, approved four Bills in its Monday’s meeting. The four Bills include Abolition of Kamaiya (bonded) Labour, two concerning revenue collection and one concerning the Parliament Secretariat.
The Bills were unanimously approved in the Lower House of parliament. A Bill seeking to ensure equal rights of women in parental property was presented to the House of Representatives for approval. The Bill concerning equal rights to women in parental property was discussed in the
concerned committee, which passed with majority members.
Some communist lawmakers have opposed the Bill saying it does not ensure equal rights to women in real sense.
