Floods, landslides and house collapses triggered by unprecedented rains since July 13 have killed 200 persons, injured 115 and 30 others are missing in 21 districts, the Home Ministry said Thursday.

Altogether 4470 families have been affected and 3760 houses destroyed, the Ministry said. The rains have caused extensive damage to life and property as the Ministry awaits further details of damage  and destruction. Makwanpur, Khotang, Kathmandu and Chitwan are the worst affected districts.

Relief measures are being coordinated from headquarters established at Simara in Bara district.

An emergency cabinet meeting Thursday called for speedy relief measures and asked political parties, individuals and institutions to help victims of the natural disaster.

A high level central committee was also formed formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to coordinate immediate relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction work.
