The government has given high priority to the National TB control program and has adopted DOTS strategy in 1995, Bijay Raj Bhattarai, secretary at the Ministry of Health said Wednesday.
“DOTS has been made available throughout the country with 71 percent case finding rate and 90 percent treatment,” The Kathmandu Post quoted Bhattarai as saying. He further said a revised TB control program is being implemented in all parts of the country.
The reviews of the National TB Program which was carried out from September 26 until October 1 by a team representing the government of Nepal and other development partners, was presented amid a function Wednesday, the newspaper said.
