The government has prepared an integrated five-year-plan to conserve Kanchenjunga Conservation Area and its biodiversity, a published report said Wednesday.
“The plan, still in its initial stage, aims to strengthen the capacity of local communities in managing the natural resources and improving socio-economic conditions,” The Himalayan Times said.
“The management framework for the area includes six major components — biodiversity conservation, community development, income generation, conservation education, administration and management, and policy.”
The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation will implement the plan with support from WWF Nepal Program, the daily added.
