Not being specific, Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal, Jamir Akram said Tuesday there are “certain forces” active in Nepal who want to create differences in the relations between Nepal and his country.

“Everybody knows who those forces are. I don’t need to specify,” the envoy said at an interaction program organised by the Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu Tuesday. “But these kind of forces will not undermine the close relationships between Nepal and Pakistan.”

On peace and security situation in South Asia, the envoy categorically blamed India of destabilising the whole region with the signing of a new arms deal with Israel.

“The arms deal of supplying sophisticated weapons to India will negatively impact on the balance of power in South Asia,” he said. “Such act is alternately going to lead to an arms-race in the region.”

On the forthcoming SAARC Summit scheduled for January, 2004, Akram said all the seven nations will participate in the summit. “India has also officially confirmed that they are taking part in the Summit,” he said.

On China’s inclusion to SAARC, he said all members except India are ready to include China in SAARC. “There should be no any questions, if China’s inclusion in SAARC will help the region grow economically.”
