ADB gives a Rs.60.6 million grant

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Friday gave Nepal a Rs.60.6 million grant under the Japan Fund for Poverty Alleviation to help 30,000 farmers, including 10,000 kamaiyas or former slave labourers, an announcement said.

Poor farmers in  Banke, Bardia, Dang, Kailali and Kanchanpur will benefit.

Representatives of the ADB and the Finance Ministry signed the loan accord in the presence of an official of the Japanese embassy.
