The 9th South Federation Games (SAF) postponed by host Pakistan in September for security reasons will now be held in Islamabad from March 30 to April 8, agencies reported.

The South Asian Sports Federation’s executive committee approved the new dates at a meeting in Rawalpindi Saturday, reports said. South Asia’s biggest biannual extravaganza was originally scheduled to be held from October 9-15.

Nepal did not attend the meeting but supported the decision through a letter of the Nepal Olympic Committee, the reports said. Nepal hosted the 8th SAF Games.
