258 died of monsoon havoc: Home Ministry

This year’s monsoon havoc affected altogether 59 districts, claiming 258 lives across the country, Home Ministry spokesman Gopendra Bahadur Pandey said Wednesday.

“In addition, 54 persons are still missing due to the rain-triggered landslide, flood and thunder bolts,” Pandey said. The rain-havoc wounded 100 persons and directly affected 6,887 people Nepal-wide.

“A total of 2,919 houses were totally destroyed in the monsoon havoc causing losses of around 210 million rupees,” Pandey said.
