Two man-eater tigers kill 11 persons, maul four others

Two man-eater tigers have killed 11 persons in Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts in one week and mauled four others, wildlife officials said Tuesday.

A tiger has killed six persons in several villages in Nawalparasi district 120 kms southwest of the capital and mauled four others in one week, officials said.

” We have sent technicians to the area after requests to track down the man-eater. We will dart it if the animal in young and healthy to be kept at the zoo and kill it if it is old and sick,” said a wildlife official who preferred anonymity. The tiger strayed out of Royal Chitwan National Park to Nawalparasi,

Another male man-eater was killed at Ayodhayanagar outside the Royal Chitwan National Park after killing five persons in one week. The Royal Chitwan National Park is home to the one-horned rhino and the tiger both on the endangered protected list of animals.
