The last day of Badadasain or Kojagrath Poornima was observed by worshipping Mahalaxi or the goddess of wealth Wednesday evening. King Gyanendra, Queen Komal and other members of the royal family offered prayers and pujas to the Goddess Navadurga Bhagawati in Bhaktapur.
Housewives staged a night long vigil praying and worshipping for wealth, well-being and prosperity. The day also marked the beginning of a month long prayers of Lord Vishnu heralding the onset of the Tihar festival.
Buddhists also offered night prayers at Syambhunath.
