Seven Maoists killed

The army killed seven Maoists, including a woman, in operations Sunday and Monday in five districts, the Defence Ministry said. The army killed Debraj alias Rabi in Gorkha, another rebel in Jajarkot and  one in Dhulabari in Jhapa, the Ministry said.

Two rebels were killed in Khotang, including Batase area commander Dil Kazi Karki alias Arjun and Indira Karki in Simpani in the district; she was described as district committee chairperson of an affiliated organization with the rebels.

Army also shot dead two rebels in Salyan, an announcement said. The army recovered nine concealed guns and two kilograms of explosives during a search in Sonbarsha and Fattehepur in Banke Monday.

Locals surrendered 21 guns in Makwanpur and Dhading Monday. nepalnews.com br July 16
