Maoist lynched to death

Locals of Biteni village in Nuwakot district lynched a Maoist accused for excesses Monday evening. Irate villagers lynched Man Bahadur Banjan to death, police said.

Banjan was the deputy chief of the village people’s government declared by the rebels.

Police have been rushed to the village after the incident. A vigilante committee had been set up in the village recently to fight the rebels.

Police recovered three guns and some explosives hidden by suspected Maoists in a bamboo grove near a campus in Dhulabari Monday in Jhapa district, police said.
