The Nepali Congress Party (Deuba) central committee Friday expelled five district presidents for anti party activities from the party’s ordinary membership for three years to control and expand its grip of the fractured organization, an announcement said.
The party of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba expelled district presidents of Gorkha Chinkazi Shrestha, Arjun Joshi of Parbat, Raghunath Paudel of Tanahu, Khagendra Regmi of Syangjha and Hari Prasad Shrestha of Baglung. They supported the Congress led by president Girija Prasad Koirala.
Ad hoc committees were appointed in the districts with Deuba nominees. The central committee Friday discussed problems faced by the organization and future strategy, an announcement said.
