The Delhi High Court Friday barred the Indian government from extraditing the four Nepalese arrested by the Indian Police on charges of assisting the Maoists in Nepal, agencies reported.

The court has also ordered the Indian Government to furnish replies on the same issue by Monday. The Indian Human Rights Commission has also requested the Indian authorities not to extradite the Maoists who have been arrested in India. The human rights activists have entrusted the Commission Director General with the responsibility of looking into the case.

The special police squad in India arrested four Nepalese and some Indians who were holding preliminary meetings to end the emergency rule in Nepal and initiate peace dialogue between the Maoist and the government.

The spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of HMG denied to have known anything about the extradition of the Nepalese who were arrested in India.

The police had interrogated the Indian nationals who were affiliated with the Maoist terrorist outfit. They were held under custody for three hours and were released on Thursday itself. The Nepalese involved in the racket are still behind bars. nepalnews.com am July 13
