Kathmandu, Oct.18: Vitamin A drops was administered to children under the age of five years Wednesday in 69 of the nations 75 administrative districts to curb eye deficiencies and other diseases.
The national programme aims to administer the drops to three million Nepali children Wednesday and Thursday. Nearly 39,000 volunteers are involved in the project launched in 1993.
The national programme will be launched in the remaining districts of Dhading, Gorkha, the Maoist affected districts of Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan and Jajarkot in 2001. USAID, UNICEF and Australia-Aid are funding the project.
