The main opposition CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have warned the underground Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) to face severe consequences if the rebels did not stop violence and attacks against their workers.

Both CPN-UML and RPP issued separate statements condemning the attack and abduction of their workers perpetrated by Maoist rebels in different parts of the country.

Maoist rebels attacked and abducted CPN-UML workers in Sindhupalchock, Humla, Dhading and other districts recently. Similarly, the rebels abducted a RPP worker and chairman of Tipling Village Development Committee of Dhading.

Both CPN-UML and RPP have asked the Maoists to immediately release the abducted people and stop attacks against political workers and civilians.
