Two Maoists killed: RNA

Two Maoists were killed in a retaliatory action of the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) at the Jhenam area of the western Rolpa district on Thursday.

A statement issued by the Directorate of the Public Relations of the RNA said the Maoists were killed in retaliatory action when they tried to hurl socket bombs at the patrolling security forces.

Security forces also recovered one rifle, one pistol, bullets of different guns, socket bombs, grenades, two generators, one computer and other material from the incident site.

The statement also added that area committee members of Parsa district Suresh Hajari Paswan and Bijay Ram and nine Maoists cadres including Ram Jivan Raut, Shakti Prashad Kattel, Bikau Thakur, Shiva Nanda Prashad Kurmi, Moti Lal Paswan, nanda Lal Dasatwa and Surendra Raut surrendered to the security force on Wednesday expressing dissatisfaction over the Maoists’ activities.

Likewise, Maoist cadre Laxman Acharya of Poudi Amarai area of the Gulmi district surrendered to the District Administration office on Wednesday, while Mukti Prashad Ghimire of Jogimara area of Dhading district surrenderd to the security forces on Tuesday.
