Traveling Peace Concert in Dhangadi

The ‘Sundar Shanta Nepal’ Traveling Peace Concert team put up another impressive display at Dhangadi, Kailali today.

The concert today kicked off in a very enthusiastic style with the popular Deuda singer Nanda Krishna Joshi warming up the audience with his two hit numbers ‘Oh Baja Jhumrauli Baja’ and ‘Jhyamma Jhyamma.’

20,000 men, women and children were present at the Trinagar Secondary School Ground today.

Swaroop Raj Acharya then took over with soothing numbers ‘Jahan Chan Buddhaka Ankha’ and ‘Dherai Maya Dinda Raichan.’ He was followed by his elder brother Satya Raj who sang his singer father Bhakta Raj Acharya’s evergreen hit ‘Mutu Jalilarecha.’

The audience then had the opportunity to dance with Sapanashree’s ‘Sawari Mero Relaima’ and ‘Hereko Timilai’, Jyoti Ghimire’s ‘Maski Maski Nahera’ and ‘Nasalu Timro Heraile’, Kunti Moktan’s ‘Humla Jumla’ and ‘Choli Ramro’, Meera Rana’s ‘Baduli Lgyoni’ and ‘Makhmali Cholo’ and Om Bikram Bista’s ‘Ko Ho Tyo’ and M’a Mauntama.’

Then the crowd was swayed by Nepathya band with the lead singer Amrit Gurung singing ‘Rato Ra Chandra Surya’ and and ‘Gaon Gaon Bata Utha’ instilling patriotic feelings among the crowd. He also gave the crowd a local flavour with ‘Sa Karnali’ and had them dancing with the smash hit ‘Resham.’

The show was concluded with the rendition of theme song ‘Sundar Yesai Chhandai Chha Nepal, Sandhai Shanta Rahos’ (our country has always been beautiful and let it always be peaceful) sung collectively by all the singing artists.

Brazesh Khanal and Indira Jocy were the masters of the ceremony of the concert that was also telecast live by local STS Cable TV.

The concert was another success after three successful shows in Birtamode of Jhapa, Hetauda and Ghorahi, Dang, the organizer said.

Trinagar Secondary School, Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Kailali Branch and local NGOs-Sarwangin Bikash Kendra and Sirjansheel Samaj Ko Srijana were local co-hosts of the concert. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be used to support the social initiatives taken by these organisations.

‘Sundar Shanta Nepal’, organized by Himal Association and managed by nepa~laya is a traveling peace concert that aims at bringing together singing artists of different genre onto a single platform with the objective of entertaining the masses while also spreading the message of peace and amity.
