Technicians darted a tigress Wednesday at Rampur Campus after mauling an employee one day earlier, police said. Dewan Singh Magar survived the attack. The tigress is now at Sauraha in the Royal National Chitwan Park, wildlife officials said.

Tigers have been creating havoc around the park lately. A tiger was shot dead earlier this month after killing seven persons. The tigress was not a man-eater and could be released deep within the
park, an official of the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation said.

A final decision has not been made, he said. Another option is to bring her to the capital to be kept at the zoo.

Meanwhile, a dead female rhino with its invaluable horn intact was found inside the protected forest Tuesday, wildlife officials said. The endangered rhino probably died on natural causes, officials said.
