Police arrested three persons with 56.5-kg hashish in Kathmandu last evening.

Officials at the Narcotics Control Law Enforcement Unit (NCLE) informed Nepalnews that Ugaden Lama, 42, of Prok VDC-3 Gorkha, Arjun Blon, 22, and Sukaraj Ale, 17, of Tistung VDC-9, Makwanpur district, were arrested from Dhapasi area by a police team that reached the area based on a tip-off that the trio were engaged in trade of contraband drugs. 50kg hashish was confiscated from them.

Similarly, police seized 6.4 kg hashish from Lama’s Swyambhu apartment on the same day. The drug was meant to be sent abroad, NCLE officials said.

Investigation into these cases is underway at the NCLE, they added.
